Blisson is used as a family name or surname in many languages. It is 7 characters long in length.

Family Name / Last Name: Blisson
No. of characters: 7
Origin: Unknown
Meaning: Name worn in the Gard and neighboring departments (07, 84) at least since the early seventeenth century. Uncertain meaning. The word "Blisson" is attested in Old French as a variant of "plisson" (= fur coat, fur, short for "Pelisson"), but such a contraction appears unlikely in Languedoc. For the same reason, the explanation of M.-T. Morlet, who sees a contraction Blisson Bélisson (derived from "beautiful"), is questionable. Still, I have nothing else to offer. Note the existence of a farmhouse Blisson in Vauvert (30), and a hamlet or neighborhood called Blissonne in Orange (84).
