I don't think this nameslist is very accurate if you don't even have South Africa on there? There are many in South Africa with the surname Keown. It is my maiden name. The meaning of Keown is "Son of John". Keown Name Meaning. Irish: reduced Anglicized form of Gaelic Mac Eoghain (in Connacht) and Mac Eoin (in east Ulster), both meaning 'son of John'.
