Leso is a surname often used by the Tswana and Pedi speaking people. It has two translation meanings: Leso in Tswana means Death and in Pedi means Black. African surnames at some point (especially in the Pedi cultures) where derived from the deeds or circumstances of our ancestors. If in the community a certain family the father was extremely dark skin, then that family surname will be 'Leso'.
