I am a bearer of the last name Lyu and I am Chinese. My last name have roots in the former State of Lyu, which is located in modern-day Henan Province, China, and ends in the Spring and Autumn period (770~476 BCE). It is written as "吕" (Pinyin: Lǚ) in Chinese. "Lyu" is the standard romanization of my last name in mainland China since early 2010s; variants include "Lv" and "Lu".
